Sylvia’s long experience in sustainable investing and in managing both long-only and long-short equity portfolios, as well as a long association with the Firm’s Founders, led her to join Equitile as Director of ESG & Business Development.

She has spent 16 years at Baring Asset Management, where she ran $4bn in European and Global Equities. Subsequently, at Hermes Investment Management, she launched and managed the European Small Cap Equity Fund, and thereafter managed money at hedge fund specialist, Ennismore Fund Management.

In addition to her Board role at CFA UK, Sylvia is Chair of the Examinations and Education Committee, and she is a member of both the CFA UK Certificate in Climate and Investing Panel and the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing Panel (CFAI ESG Panel). In her former role as Chair of the CFAI ESG Panel, Sylvia was instrumental in leading practitioners in the design, development and launch of the CFAI Certificate in ESG Investing – the first professional qualification of its kind, delivering the benchmark knowledge and skills to integrate ESG factors into the investment process.
